Access Statement for Goltho Gardens, Nursery and Tea Shop

Introduction

We are a garden open to the public with large paths accessible to wheelchairs, Cars for disabled people can be taken right up to the beginning of the garden and within a hundred yards of the teashop.  The teashop has a large stone drive leading to it with one step in.

• We are situated one mile from Wragby with a footpath all the way.  No other towns are within easy walking distance.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• We have a large Car Park which is level for entry to both the gardens and teashop.
• Those who are unable to manage the distance can be taken and dropped off closer to the start of the garden or within 10 metres of the teashop.
• The entrance to the garden and teashop is via a stoned driveway.

 
Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area

• The entrance to the teashop is by a double door with a slight step.
• Assistance can be given to those who require it.

 
Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc

• We only have the tea shop details shown under tea shop

 
Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc

• We do not have these areas

 
Public WCs

• Available in the teashop.  
• Presently they are not accessible to wheelchairs but if you are able your chair can be left directly outside the toilet.
• We are hoping to have this problem corrected by 2010

 
Restaurant / Dining Room, Bar & Bar area, Take Away & Cafe

• The tea shop has natural light.  The tables and seating are all moveable, all tables have central columns and the chairs do not have arms.
• The menus are typed and quite small but there is waitress service and they are more than happy to help anyone who has problems reading it.
• When the weather is good we have tables and chairs outside on the lawn.
• There is one step into the tea shop and a raised sill on the door.
• The WC is available in the tea shop.

 
Grounds and Gardens

• The gardens are accessible to wheelchairs but the going is not always easy to get round unless the wheelchair is electric.  The paths are wide but are either grassed or bark except for the entrance which is stoned.

• There are always staff who are able to help.
• All signage is large and clear.
• The tea shop has a no-smoking policy.
